About 270 professionals gathered from October\u00a05 to 8 in the beautiful city of Punta Cana in the\u00a0Dominican Republic to participate in the XXVI\u00a0International Dominican Congress\u00a0of Neurology and Neurosurgery.\u00a0Facilitated by the participation\u00a0of national and international\u00a0experts, the main topics were\u00a0neuropediatrics, neuropathic pain,\u00a0brain tumors, neurosurgery and\u00a0functional neurosurgery, among\u00a0others.
\nExperts from Mexico, the\u00a0United States, Argentina, Costa\u00a0Rica, Brazil and the Dominican\u00a0Republic gave lectures and\u00a0panels on the usefulness of endoscopy in cerebral\u00a0malformation, treatment of the herniated disc by the\u00a0ambulatory procedure of the\u00a0percutaneous dichotomy by\u00a0laser, and cerebral infarction of\u00a0indeterminate origin.\u00a0The congress’ scientific program\u00a0also included lectures on multiple\u00a0sclerosis, ophthalmoplegia\u00a0and linguistic alterations;\u00a0necrotizing encephalopathy,\u00a0case presentation; and effects of\u00a0convulsions on the cognition and\u00a0mood of patients with epilepsy.<\/p>\n
