Neurovirtual at the Colombian Congress of Child Neurology

June 12, 2025

From May 22 to 24, 2025, Bogotá hosted the 16th Colombian Congress of Child Neurology, a key event for specialists in the field. Under the theme “Controversies and Challenges in Child Neurology,” the congress featured a high-level academic agenda that covered topics such as neurodevelopment, inborn errors of metabolism, epilepsy, neuroimmunology, movement disorders, and neuromuscular and neurovascular diseases. The program included interactive workshops and over eight thematic modules led by national and international experts.

Among the most notable technological presentations was the exhibition of the BWIII EEG PLUS and BWMINI EEG systems, used for neurophysiological monitoring in pediatrics. These devices were well received for their portability and precision, especially in complex clinical contexts such as refractory epilepsy and neurodevelopmental disorders. During the event, we were also honored to receive visits from distinguished physicians such as Dr. Juan Carlos Pérez (Pediatric Neurologist and President-Elect of the Latin American Region of the International League Against Epilepsy – ILAE), Dr. Laura Guio (Pediatric Neurologist and Epileptologist at the Central League Against Epilepsy and HOMI in Bogotá), and Dr. Blanca Rodríguez Clavijo (Pediatric Neurologist and President of the Colombian Association of Child Neurology).

The event offered a unique space for clinical updates, critical analysis of real cases, and the strengthening of professional networks. For those who could not attend, the richness of the content and the integration of science and technology serve as a strong invitation to follow future editions, where the future of child neurology in Latin America continues to be redefined.
